The Indian cricket team, crowned the T20 World Cup champions, has been showered with a whopping Rs 125 crore as prize money by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Fans are curious about how much their favorite players will receive. The Rs 125 crore won’t just be divided among the playing XI but will also include selectors and support staff.

Major Share for the T20 World Cup Squad:

According to media reports, the largest share of the prize money will go to the 15 players included in the T20 World Cup squad. Each of these players, along with Coach Rahul Dravid, will receive Rs 5 crore.

Rs 2.5 Crore Each for These Players:

Reserve players such as Rinku Singh, Khaleel Ahmed, Avesh Khan, and Shubman Gill will also receive a substantial amount. Similarly, the core coaching staff, including Batting Coach Vikram Rathour, Fielding Coach T. Dilip, and Bowling Coach Paras Mhambrey, will get Rs 2.5 crore each. Additionally, the five selectors in Ajit Agarkar’s selection committee will each receive Rs 1 crore.

Others to Share the Prize Money:

The prize money distribution extends beyond players, coaches, and selectors. Physiotherapists Kamlesh Jain, Yogesh Parmar, and Tulsi Ram Yuvraj; throwdown experts Raghavendra Davi, Nuwan Udenake, and Dayanand Garani; and masseurs Rajiv Kumar and Arun Kanade, as well as Strength and Conditioning Coach Soham Desai, will each receive Rs 2 crore. The total delegation for the T20 World Cup, including players, consisted of 42 members, encompassing video analysts, BCCI staff members, and logistics managers, all of whom will receive a significant portion of the prize money.

Additional Financial Rewards:

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has awarded the Indian team Rs 20.40 crore for winning the final. The Maharashtra government, led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, has also announced a reward of Rs 11 crore for the world champion team. CM Shinde honored several players, including Captain Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav, in the state assembly on Friday.
